Urban guerrilla’s mother and wife arrested after alleged accomplice taken into custody

Police have made another two arrests after catching Angeliki Sotiropoulou, an alleged accomplice of November 17 terrorist Christodoulos Xeros and members of the Conspiracy of the Cells of Fire urban guerrilla group.

Sotiropoulou was arrested on the island of Salamani at the home occupied by the mother of two convicted Conspiracy members, brothers Gerasimos and Christos Tsakalos.

Officers also arrested the brothers’ mother and Gerasimos’s wife for allegedly harbouring a criminal. Their capture takes up to six the number of arrests over the last few days in connection to the Xeros-Conspiracy case.

Xeros spent 12 months on the run before being recaptured in January, when he was allegedly planning to help Conspiracy members escape from Korydallos Prison.
