Graffiti cleanup interrupted by protest at NTUA

City of Athens staff specializing in removing graffiti from buildings and Greek Cultural Ministry experts began restoring the exterior walls of the National Technical Univeristy of Athens (NTUA) in the city center on Monday. The walls had been recently covered by black and white graffiti.

Restoration efforts were temporarily suspended later in the day when a group of protesters staged a protest against the graffiti’s removal.

Monday’s protest action was reportedly organized through Facebook by self-managed theater company Embros.

Restoration work was expected to last for a week.
