Most of 18 inmates injured in deadly prison brawl discharged from hospital

Fifteen of the 18 inmates injured during deadly clashes at Korydallos Prison on Sunday night were discharged from the hospital on Monday.

The remaining three prisoners are still receiving treatment for head, chest and stomach wounds. Their injuries are not life-threatening, according to doctors.

Two inmates, both Pakistanis, were killed during the mass brawl, which broke out after dinner and before prisoners returned to their cells.

Justice Minister Nikos Paraskevopoulos visited the jail and expressed his sadness at the events. It is not clear what caused the fight to break out.
