Abused schoolgirl attempts suicide
A 14-year-old Albanian schoolgirl attempted to kill herself with an overdose of sleeping pills late Wednesday night after saying she could not cope with the pressure of being exploited sexually by the principal of her school in Athens. She had her stomach pumped out in the city’s Ippocrateio Hospital after her mother and a social worker found the girl lying behind her school late at night. Yesterday she was receiving psychological support. Meanwhile, a prosecutor charged Panayiotis Bouras with rape and seduction of a minor following the schoolgirl’s accusation that over the last two years she had been sexually exploited by the headmaster. She said that she had been forced to accept his attentions in exchange for good marks. He allegedly threatened that if she complained he would make certain that she was deported. On the other hand, repos will be taxed by 7 percent from January 1. Also, the property of off-shore companies will now be taxed.
