Police unionists…

Police unionists shout slogans during a central Athens march yesterday evening which ended in minor scuffles with riot police who tried to stop their colleagues from demonstrating outside the National Economy and Finance ministries, just off Syntagma Square. About 1,000 police, fire brigade and coast guard officers took part in the march, demanding that their jobs should be designated as hazardous (which entails better benefits). The protest continues today and tomorrow.
