Police raid bar brothel that exploited minors
Attica police said yesterday they have broken up a gang that sexually exploited underage youths, following a raid in a central Athens bar that doubled as a brothel catering to homosexual men. Four people were arrested and charged with procuring, engaging in pornography involving minors and indecent assault on minors. Another two men who evaded arrest face similar charges. Among the six suspects was a 16-year-old Albanian national, police said. The gang allegedly hired underage youths – mainly immigrants – to work in the bar, whose name was not made public, photographed them in the nude and then arranged for them to have sex with paying clients in a back room. Last week, police arrested three suspected members of an international gang that lured young women from the former Soviet republics to work in Athens sex clubs.
