Suspected child killer transferred to Corfu prison

A 27-year-old man alleged to have killed his 4-year-old daughter before cutting up her body and boiling the pieces was on Wednesday transferred to a prison cell on Corfu where he is to remain isolated from other inmates.

The Bulgarian national was transferred to the port of Igoumenitsa by road and then to the Ionian island by ferry amid high security. Sources said the 27-year-old, who is a drug addict, will have his own cell and will eat and take his exercise alone to ensure he is not attacked by other prisoners.

His wife, the 25-year-old mother of Ani Borisova, is to face an investigating magistrate on Thursday.

In a related development, a 50-year-old woman who had posed as a psychiatrist at the Organization Against Drugs (OKANA) in media interviews, claiming to have urged authorities to put the girl in care, was arrested on charges of spreading false information.
