Corruption prosecutor to remain another two years
The Supreme Court on Monday renewed Eleni Raikou’s term as the capital’s key corruption prosecutor for another two years and appointed an equivalent judicial official in Thessaloniki, Achilleas Zisis.
Raikou was appointed corruption prosecutor in April 2013 to boost efforts to plow through a multitude of cases of alleged graft and mismanagement and has been instrumental in getting former Defense Minister Akis Tsochatzopoulos to face justice for siphoning millions of euros in kickbacks for defense contracts.
