Postal workers to walk off job in demand of more staff

Attica postal workers are to walk off the job on Thursday between noon and 3 p.m., calling for immediate hirings due to severe understaffing that is making it difficult for them to plan their summer vacations.

Union members warned that, unless more staff is recruited, mail will only be delivered in Attica every 10 days.

Specifically, unionists are demanding the recruitment of 581 postal workers to fill vacancies nationwide.

They say workers’ rights, as enshrined in collective labor contracts, are being violated.
