4.2-magnitude quake strikes off Crete
An undersea quake, measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale, occurred in the area between Crete and Kassos in the early hours of Friday but no damage or injuries were reported.
The quake followed two tremors, measuring 4.2 and 4.4 Richter, in the same undersea area, on Thursday afternoon.
The seismic activity in the area follows a strong 6.1-magnitude earthquake that struck east of Crete in the middle of last month. Despite its strength, the April 16 earthquake did not cause any major damage or injuries.
