Greece does not understand lenders’ insistence on tough measures, Tsipras tells Merkel, Hollande, sources say

A meeting between Greek PM Alexis Tsipras, German Chancellor Merkel and French President Francois Hollande concluded in Brussels on Friday.

According to sources Tsipras informed Merkel and Hollande of developments in ongoing negotiations between Greece and the institutions in view of breaking a deadlock and signing a deal before the country’s bailout program expires on June 30.

Sources indicated that Tsipras told Merkel and Hollande that Greece could not understand lenders’ insistence on tough measures.

Following the meeting Hollande reportedly left Brussels to return to France in the wake of an alleged terrorist attack carried out at a factory in Grenoble on Friday.
