State of emergency for Samos

A man on a tricycle splashes along a road on the island of Samos, which was afflicted by extensive flooding and landslides yesterday following torrential overnight rains. Thousands of hectares of the island’s forests were destroyed by fire two years ago, leading to widespread erosion.
