Livestock farmers to stage protests
Greek livestock farmers are planning to stage a series of protests next month following a decision by their union’s board of directors on Monday.
The action is being organized in response to announcements regarding changes in their tax status, measures which are part of the country’s third bailout program agreed with its creditors.
According to the union’s president, Dimitris Kabouris, the protests are expected to take place on a regional level across the country starting in early October.
Livestock farmers are also seeking to begin discussions with other farming sectors in an attempt to coordinate action.
