Anti-terror squad raid property in Marathon

Members of Greece’s anti-terrorism squad on Wednesday conducted a raid on a property in Marathon, northeast of Athens, which is believed to have been used by Giorgos Petrakakos, an alleged terrorist arrested in Volos last week.

The raid came two days after officers found a wealth of arms buried in the garden of a house allegedly rented by Petrakakos in Molos, Fthiotida, central Greece.

Petrakakos, 36, is a suspected accomplice of Nikos Maziotis, the leader of another guerrilla group, Revolutionary Struggle. Petrakakos was remanded in custody, along with his girlfriend, Monday after testifying before an investigating magistrate.
