Greenpeace activists end protest, face charges

Thirteen Greenpeace activists were escorted to the Kozani police station late on Wednesday, after spending 14 hours protesting on top of the cooling tower at the country’s largest coal-fired power station in Ptolemaida, northern Greece. The activists were protesting Greece’s failure to adopt cleaner energy practices.

The Greenpeace members were expected to face a prosecutor later in the day on charges of disturbing the peace and causing damage to property.
