Georgian ambassador issues statement on Abkhazian delegation

The ambassador of Georgia to Athens, Ioseb Nanobashvili, on Thursday issued a statement decrying the presence of a delegation from Abkhazia at a trade fair in Athens, where they appeared as representing the “Republic of Abkhazia.”

“After complete failure to promote the so-called independence of the Georgian occupied regions through their international recognition… the occupation regimes try to achieve any kind of legitimization through international contacts, participation in trade and cultural fairs, signing agreements with business-entities etc.

Such activities of the occupation regimes have nothing to do with any business or trade,” Nanobashvili said in his statement. “We would like to once again appeal to all business entities in Greece and elsewhere, please, refrain from any contacts with representatives of the occupied regimes and closely cooperate with the Embassy of Georgia in Athens,” he added.
