Prime Minister visits Slovenia

Prime Minister Costas Simitis (l) paid a one-day official visit to Slovenia yesterday, during which the two countries signed three bilateral accords to boost cooperation in the economic, agricultural and technological sectors as well as an air traffic accord. In talks with his Slovenian counterpart, Janez Drnovsek, Simitis discussed regional issues and the problem of terrorism. Simitis also stressed the need for more cooperation in trade and investments. After visiting the 11 British men in jail near Nafplion, Euro MP Richard Howitt said he was satisfied with their conditions but worried about them sleeping on mattresses on the floor.
