The international day against AIDS
Commemorating the international day against AIDS, members of the Doctors of the World non-governmental organization took to the streets of central Athens, staging events and handing out pamphlets aimed at informing the public of the hazards of unprotected sex. The main event was staged at Kotzia Square facing Athens City Hall. After visiting the 11 British men in jail near Nafplion, Euro MP Richard Howitt said he was satisfied with their conditions but worried about them sleeping on mattresses on the floor.
