Israeli defense minister due in Athens

Greek Defense Minister Panos Kammenos is on Monday to receive his Israeli counterpart, Moshe Ya’alon, in Athens, as the latter returns a visit to Israeli by Kammenos in July.

“Greece is an important ally to Israel in the Mediterranean Sea, and cooperation between the IDF and the Greek military is productive and broad. From our perspective, there is great significance in safeguarding and furthering defense ties with Greece,” Ya’alon was quoted by the Jerusalem Post as saying on Sunday.

The two officials are expected to meet with senior defense officials and issue a joint declaration.
