Suspect in murder, abduction gets deposition extension

A 34-year-old man accused of murdering his estranged wife and abducting their 4-year-old son earlier this month on Wednesday was given additional time to prepare his testimony after appearing before a magistrate in Polygyros, Halkidiki.

The suspect, who has been identified by police as Albanian national James Claude Lesi, was transferred to the court complex in Polygyros in handcuffs in the morning and lodged an appeal for a 48-hour extension to prepare his deposition before being returned to police custody.

According to police sources, the suspect, who was transferred from police custody to the prosecutor’s office under tight security, admitted to charges of murder and abduction.
