Union of Centrists chief repeats call for unity government

Union of Centrists leader Vassilis Leventis repeated his call on Thursday for the creation of an ecumenical government as he met President Prokopis Pavlopoulos. Leventis has spoken in favor of all the mainstream opposition parties joining SYRIZA and Independent Greeks in power over the last few weeks, during which his criticism of the coalition has increased.
“I think they are incompetent,” he said during an interview with Parapolitika FM before his meeting with Pavlopoulos.
“I have started fearing for the country,” he added.
Leventis was also critical of the Greek president, saying that Pavlopoulos “has to understand that he is not [Prime Minister Alexis] Tsipras’s employee.”
