Garden well swallowed up by Piraeus metro works
A former well which had filled up with dirt and rubble in the garden of a house in Nikaia collapsed into a underground tunnel during work on a metro extension toward Piraeus Tuesday when a boring machine dislodged the debris.
The incident caused damage to the sewage system of the house, some 130 meters from Aghios Nikolaos Square, but no injuries were reported.
