Monuments, sites to mark international day with free admission on Monday

Admission to archaeological sites and historical monuments across the country will be free of charge on Monday, International Day for Monuments and Sites, the Greek Culture Ministry has announced.

Opening hours will be as usual, meaning that those monuments and sites that do not open on Mondays will remain closed.

Meanwhile, the ministry also announced Holy Week opening hours for museums, sites and monuments. According to a statement released by the ministry, opening hours on Good Friday will be noon to 5 p.m. and on Holy Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Venues will be closed on Easter Sunday, while hours will return to normal on Easter Monday. On May 3, all venues will be closed in observance of Labor Day (May 1), which this year lands on a Sunday.
