Drivers to retrieve removed license plates for Easter holidays

Car and motorcycle owners who had their license plates removed by municipal police for traffic violations will be able to retrieve them, beginning Friday, due to the Easter holidays, local authorities announced Wednesday. The decision was made to facilitate circulation during the holidays.

Vehicle owners can get their plates at the offices of the Athens municipal police (14 Ag. Konstantinou street, 1st floor) daily from 9 a.m.to 5 p.m. Meanwhile, trucks with a holding capacity of over 1.5 tons will be  prohibited from using national highways on Easter Thursday (from 3-10pm) and Good Friday (6-4 p.m.) as a safety precaution due to increased holiday traffic flows.
