Geoffrey Pyatt tapped as next US Ambassador to Greece

Geoffrey Pyatt, who currently heads the American Embassy in Ukraine, is set to become US ambassador in Greece.
The appointment will take place pending a green light from the Greek Foreign Ministry, which has already received the relevant documentation from Washington. He will be replacing David D. Pearce.
Pyatt is said to maintain close ties to US Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland, who is responsible for Washington’s foreign policy in the Eastern Mediterranean.
