Referendum on review of constitution, electoral law ‘not ruled out’
Government spokeswoman Olga Gerovasili on Tuesday said the government may consider holding a referendum over its planned review of the country’s constitution and electoral law.
Speaking at a regular press briefing in Athens, Gersovasili said the government aims to hold extensive consultations with political parties and social agencies before finalizing any plans for these reforms, adding that while a referendum has not been discussed it cannot be ruled out.
She added that the government expects the consultation process on the review to take about a year.
