Two arrested with forged travel documents at Crete airport

Two Syrian nationals and a woman from Cameroon were arrested at the Nikos Kazantzakis Airport in Iraklio, Crete on Saturday, for attempting to board flights destined for Belgium and Germany.

According to the police investigation, the two men – aged 39 and 68 respectively – used documents from Portugal and Sweden to travel to Nuremberg in Germany. The woman, 23, had forged Belgian documents and was heading to Brussels.

All three were set to go before an Iraklio prosecutor on Saturday.
