Pulse poll shows conservatives have 6.5 point lead over SYRIZA

New Democracy is leading SYRIZA by 6.5 percentage points, according to a new poll which also showed most Greeks concerned about the impact of a Brexit on their country.

The Pulse survey, which was commissioned by Action 24 television station, puts the conservatives out in front with 30 percent and SYRIZA second on 23.5 percent. They are followed by Golden Dawn on 6.5 percent, PASOK and the Greek Communist Party (KKE) both on 5.5 percent, and the Union of Centrists on 3 percent. To Potami, Independent Greeks, Popular Unity and Sailing for Freedom are all below the 3 percent threshold required to enter Parliament.

On the issue of who would be the most suitable political leader for the position of prime minister, opposition leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis was voted by 29 percent of those participating in the opinion poll, followed by current premier Alexis Tsipras with 22 percent.

However, 44 percent answered “none of the two.”

Asked about the implications of the UK's EU referendum on Greece, 41 percent said the victory of the “Leave” campaign will have a negative impact on Greece, while 20 percent described the result as a positive development for the country.
