Leventis ‘not seeking pact’

A spokesman for the small Union of Centrists denied Monday that its outspoken leader, Vassilis Leventis, is thinking of joining forces with Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.

Speaking to Praktoreio FM radio, Yiannis Kallianos rejected recent speculation, prompted partly by Leventis and his party strongly backing the recent electoral reform, of an imminent alliance.

“Mr Leventis has in no way agreed anything with Mr Tsipras,” said Kallianos, who added that the leader of the centrist party disagrees with the government on the reforms needed to revive the Greek economy.

“He disagrees totally with Mr Tsipras on how to approach economic issues,” said the party official.
