Italian faces theft, attempted GBH charges in Patra
A 31-year-old Italian national was to face a prosecutor in Patra, western Greece, on Wednesday on charges of theft and attempted grievous bodily harm.
On Tuesday night the man is alleged to have taken food and cigarettes from a local store before leaving an inadequate amount of money on the counter and fleeing in his car.
Police traced the 31-year-old on Wednesday morning and signaled to him to stop for an inspection, but instead he drove his car toward the patrol vehicle.
Police officers forced him to stop the vehicle and removed him from the driving seat.
