Nine injured in pileup on Egnatia Highway

Nine people were injured, two of them seriously, on Friday morning after a pileup of four cars on the Egnatia national highway close to the tolls at Profitis in the direction of Thessaloniki.
It was unknown what caused the accident.
Meanwhile, traffic police recorded a drop in the number of accidents around the country during the August 15 feast day holiday period.
In total, there were 112 road accidents, 23 less than in the same period last year.
Fatal accident were down by 28 percent compared to last year.
