Two suspects arrested for holdup at drug warehouse

Police have arrested two 42-year-old men in connection with an armed robbery at a medicine warehouse in Athens last month.

The suspects are accused of threatening a security guard at gunpoint at the facility in Rendi, south of central Athens, which belongs to national healthcare provider EOPYY, and making off with around 1.3 million euros’ worth of drugs.

The suspects were arrested in Salamina and Nikaia, both near Piraeus. Officers were also able to return the security guard’s car, which the assailants had used as their getaway vehicle.
