A 13th century chandelier…
A 13th century chandelier that normally hangs in the Xeropotamos Monastery on Greece’s Mount Athos dominates this room in New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, during a preview yesterday of the exhibition ‘Byzantium: Faith and Power.’ The exhibition opens on March 23 and presents some 350 masterpieces from 30 countries. After July 4, a selection will be exhibited in Thessaloniki, to coincide with the Athens Olympics.
