Snow covers parts of Greece
A bulldozer pushes through deep snow on a road leading to a village in Thessaly yesterday, one of the many mountain villages cut off by heavy snow across the country. Snow, which fell in outlying parts of Athens yesterday, continued during the day to fall heavily in northern Greece. Winds of up to 9 Beaufort were blowing in the Aegean. Rain or sleet are forecast over the next two days in most regions, with more snow in the mountains of central and northern Greece. It is now becoming clear that this is more than a misunderstanding over an arcane hobby, Alex Rondos, adviser to Foreign Minister George Papandreou, told The Observer. If we want a swift resolution of this matter, then it falls to all those implicated to explain what their role has been.
