Pavlopoulos urges lenders to deliver on pledges of debt relief

Greece has fulfilled its bailout obligations, President Prokopis Pavlopoulos said during a meeting with Economy Minister Dimitris Papadimitriou on Wednesday, adding that the nation’s creditors should now deliver on their promises for debt relief.

Athens's creditors, including eurozone lenders and the International Monetary Fund, failed to agree on debt relief for the crisis-hit nation after an eight-hour meeting in Brussels on Monday but will aim to reach a deal at a meeting in June.

During the same meeting, Pavlopoulos said that Greece must work to become more investor-friendly and cut down on red tape.

“Growth is the only way forward,” he said.
