A contestant paddles a kayak during the second day yesterday at the Hellenikon Olympic venue in southern Athens of the canoe/kayak slalom racing World Cup – a test event ahead of the August 13-29 Games. The event ends on Sunday. The venue, initially planned for construction at Marathon in northeastern Attica, is built on the site of the old Athens airport. After the Olympics, the area is supposed to become a park.
