Sergeant who refused to serve at refugee camp cleared by court

A military court in Thessaloniki has exonerated an army sergeant who was charged with refusing to serve at a refugee camp in Derveni, northern Greece, last year.

The court accepted the sergeant’s claim that serving at the camp was not part of his responsibilities.

He had initially been disciplined on charges of insubordination last November.
