ND blames PASOK for ‘rogue nuclear bombs’

A top New Democracy official yesterday accused a retired general and former close aide to ND’s former prime minister, Constantine Mitsotakis, of acting as a prop for the ruling Socialists in claiming last week that the CIA had conspired to get Mitsotakis into power in 1989. Shadow defense and foreign minister Dora Bakoyianni told the Sunday Eleftherotypia that Nikos Gryllakis was acting as a prop for PASOK and its general secretary, Costas Laliotis. Mr Laliotis should know that he cannot use rogue nuclear bombs like those dropped by Mr Gryllakis, she said. Mitsotakis is her father. Gryllakis, whose autobiography will be published soon, served as his security advisor from 1985 to 1993. Also speaking to the Sunday Eleftherotypia, Gryllakis denied that his CIA claims had been dictated by PASOK. And, incredibly, the money was forgotten.
