Mid-fifth century BC…

A mid-fifth century BC marble statue of a charioteer, found off Sicily, is the highlight of a new exhibition of antiquities from the ancient Greek colonies of southern Italy to be inaugurated tonight at the Cycladic Art Museum in Athens. ‘Magna Graecia: Athletics and the Olympic Spirit on the Periphery of the Hellenic World – Southern Italy and Sicily’ will run until October 2.
