Three people were arrested on Friday in the town of Kyparissia in the western Peloponnese and charged with illegal possession of antiquities.
Police said they received a tip-off that the three suspects, aged 39, 41 and 61, were planning the sale of around a dozen ancient amphorae and other vessels that served as funeral offerings in Mycenaean-era graves.
The suspects were to face a prosecutor on charges of violating antiquities laws while the seized items are to be taken to the Archaeological Museum of Messinia.
