Framed by the Beule Gate, the Propylaea stand shrouded by scaffolding as tourists make the ascent to the Acropolis of Athens. Most of the scaffolding will remain in place during the August 13-29 Olympics, as complex conservation work on the monumental entrance to the Acropolis and other buildings on the ancient citadel has fallen behind schedule.
