A little boy, one of 38 women and children rescued from an unnamed ship battling heavy seas south of Crete yesterday, cries while being carried by a rescue worker on the island yesterday. The ship was expected to reach Ierapetra late yesterday. The ship was found drifting on Tuesday afternoon after suffering engine failure and a woman aboard phoned authorities in Turkey saying that it was sinking. Officials believe most passengers are Iraqi Kurds who had paid to be taken from Turkey to Italy.
