Residents of Thessaloniki fill bottles from a public spring yesterday, as much of the northern city remained without water for a third day due to a broken main supply pipe. Water officials said they expected the supply to have returned to normal by early this afternoon. The problem in the central pipe – which supplies Thessaloniki with 40 percent of its drinking water but has been untended for nearly 30 years – arose on Tuesday.
