South Africa’s Oscar Pistorius…

South Africa’s Oscar Pistorius, 17, sets a new world record of 21.97 in winning the final of the men’s 200-meter sprint in the T44 category yesterday, during the fourth day of the Athens 2004 Paralympics. Greece raised its Paralympic medal tally to seven, after Christos Tambaxis won silver in the men’s 100-meter freestyle swimming in the S1 category. Alexandros Taxildaris came fourth in the same race. The Games end on September 28.
