A guard of honor stands to attention as President Costis Stephanopoulos attends celebrations yesterday in Thessaloniki for the feast day of St Demetrios, the city’s patron. Tomorrow, Stephanopoulos will attend a military parade commemorating the anniversary of Greece’s entering World War II. Commenting on his plans for after the end of his second term in office in March, Stephanopoulos said he intended to do more walking.
