Only a skeleton service…

An Athenian nonchalantly scans his mobile phone screen while crossing the railroad tracks in the Tavros district yesterday, as virtually no long-distance and uburban trains were running due to a 24-hour strike by railway employees. Out of the 230 trains scheduled to be on the move yesterday, only a skeleton service of 12 was in action. The strike also affected Athens metro and suburban railway trains to the Eleftherios Venizelos Airport. Unionists oppose a planned restructuring of the railway company (OSE).
