Major operation deals with spill Twenty firefighters, six fire trucks and a special vehicle to mop up chemicals were called out to Keratsini in southwest Athens on Saturday, after a lorry carrying containers of hydrochloric acid overturned. The lorry was safely removed and the acid cleaned up without any injuries. Public Order Minister Giorgos Voulgarakis said it was the biggest operation of its kind ever to take place in Greece. Public Works Minister Giorgos Souflias said the incineration would not cause environmental problems.
