2 more charged over child porn

Another two Greeks were charged yesterday with producing and distributing via the Internet pornographic material involving young children, Thessaloniki police said, bringing the nationwide total for this week alone up to four. The two men, aged 27 and 30, were not named. Officers raided the suspects’ homes on Thursday and seized a computer hard drive, a laptop computer, five credit cards, a large number of CDs and DVDs and a small amount of cannabis. Police said they also found images showing children as young as four engaged in sexual acts with each other and with adults. The men are suspected of having been involved in peddling these images since 2003 through a number of websites based in Europe and the US, in return for payment by credit card. Two people, including a 15-year-old boy, were arrested on similar charges last month. The latest case brings the total number of suspects arrested in Greece since January 2004 on suspicion of distributing child pornography through the Internet to at least 22.
