A banner with the photographs…

A banner with the photographs and names of seven schoolchildren from a village near Trikala, who were killed when a truck crashed into their coach last September, is shown draped outside a Lamia court yesterday. The court began hearing compensation appeals from the children’s relatives. The lawyers representing the truck and coach drivers each blamed the other’s client for the crash near Asproneri in central Greece. The teenagers had been on a school trip to Athens for the last day of the Paralympic Games when the crash occurred on a notoriously dangerous stretch of the main highway linking northern and southern Greece.
