Giorgos Koutsioubas…

Giorgos Koutsioubas (left) won the silver medal in the 96kg Greco-Roman wrestling category yesterday, pinning both Serbian Radomir Petkovic (right) and Italy’s Daigoro Timoncini in morning matches before succumbing to Egypt’s Karam Ibrahim in the final at the 15th Mediterranean Games held in Almeria, southern Spain. His elder brother, Xenophon, had won gold on Sunday in the 120kg category. Greece captured another gold yesterday as swimmer Aristidis Gregoriadis took his second at these Games, in the 200-meter backstroke in a new Greek record, taking the country’s tally to three. Two more swimming medals also came yesterday, with Spyros Gianniotis winning silver in the 1,500-meter freestyle and Zoe Dimoschaki earning bronze in the 200-meter free.
